Fine Art A-Level Students

The Art Department would like to share some excellent news with you all; all of our current yr13 Fine Art students have been accepted into further education. Arber will study a history BA and Kamile, Kira and Sophie are all heading to Ravensbourne Art School for their Art Foundation Diploma. It’s worth mentioning that London Art schools are notoriously difficult to be accepted into as they are based on applications, interviews and portfolios.

The Foundation Diploma is a specialist course that follows a series of introductory projects focusing on core art disciplines; such as conceptual thinking and media manipulation. The course then allows students to deepen and develop their specialist knowledge within a chosen subject area; encouraging them to collaborate with staff and students from other disciplines leading to a BA degree.

I’m sure you will share in our pride and happiness for our students on the exciting next stage of their education. Their work has been brave, powerful and incredibly personal over the last two years; covering ideas such as grief, memory, war, refugees, feminism and catharsis.
They will be showing their work alongside GCSE Artists and photographers, textiles and technology on the 6th July – please join us for the evening to celebrate.
