Welcome to London Class - Nursery

Nursery Spring Term 1 – 2020

Happy New Year to all our parents/carers! We hope you have all had a restful break and spent lots of family time together over the holidays.

People Who Help Us

This term our topic in Nursery is ‘People Who Help Us’.  This is a wide-ranging topic with plenty of opportunity to make connections between people and places. It will include every aspect of the local community, from friends to childminders and from shopkeepers to fire fighters.  We will be inviting adults who fulfil helpful roles to visit our Nursery to bring the topic to life for our children. It is also ideal for discussing how we can help others.

People Who Help Us – Police & Vets Visit

It has been an exciting week in Nursery! PC Dave and his friends came to visit us and we were thrilled! PC Dave and his friends from Barking & Dagenham Police showed us their uniform including handcuffs and a special radio – Guess what? We even had the chance to hold the handcuffs and they were really heavy! Pupils enjoyed the visit from Kim, the Vet and we had a chance to bandage our injured Teddy Bear. She even showed us a real life X-ray of a cat! Now the children are inspired to maybe become a Police Officer or Vet themselves one day!

Christmas - December 2019

It has been a fun half term in Nursery and we have been enjoying all the festivities in school. Thank you for watching our Christmas Carol Concert. Happy Holidays and Happy New Year! See you on Monday 6th January 2020.

Nursery Autumn Term - 2019

It has been a busy half term in Nursery! We have been busy mark making in the indoor environment and we have been practising recognising our names. It has been a wet term but that did not stop us from going outside and having fun! We enjoyed working together to make dens to shelter us from the rain! We have been counting using our finger and beginning to match number and quantity correctly using pom-poms. We loved reading all about Elmer by David McKee. We made our very own Elmer’s using milk cartons and colourful sugar paper – can you see the colourful elephants in the jungle? Ooh and the most exciting part of this term was having Rainbow Fish as our guest in the Nursery. We took special care of him and made sure he felt welcomed – some of us fed him too! We hope he comes again to visit us soon!  It is now coming to the end of this half term and we are looking forward to celebrating the end of term with our friends with lots of fun activities. We hope to see you all at our Christmas Carol Concert! Please check our Nursery notices on our window for regular updates – thank you!

It's Raining, It's Pouring!

This week Nursery have had lots of fun in the rain! We had fun splashing in the muddy puddles, mixing paint in water and making shelter using wooden blocks.
