Getting the best from and for all our learners’
We are a new type of school, an ‘all through 3 to 19’ facility. Eastbury is already a very successful Secondary School, promoting high levels of achievement.
Ethos and Values
We promote pupil leadership opportunities and treat all our pupils as individuals with different talents to be nurtured. In the primary phase, Values Education will be at the heart of our new school in order to build thinking, caring and responsible community members.
We continue the strong pastoral care approach already established to ensure all our young learners are safe, healthy, happy and successful.
Pupils who start in our 2 reception classes are guaranteed a place in the Secondary Phase when they reach Year 7.

The menus displayed on a rolling 3-week basis. A mid-morning snack of fruit and a drink will also be provided for our Reception pupils.
Our curriculum focuses upon developing our pupil’s understanding and experience from a global as well as a local perspective, also drawing on the current Foundation Stage Curriculum for Reception. From September 2016, the new National Primary Curriculum will be used in Year 1.
Our facilities provide high quality indoor and outdoor space that allow for adult directed and child centred learning. In addition, ‘free flow’ play based sessions encourage exploration and independence.
Learning and Behaviour
We promote positive behaviour choices by recognising and rewarding good behaviour and values led actions on a regular basis. For each pupil, we have a Home School Partnership agreement between the parents and the school. We establish weekly achievement assemblies, ‘Special Person’ recognition and ‘Star of the Week’ within classes. We also maintain a focus on regular attendance and punctuality for our learners – these are key in establishing good learning habits! A school house system establishes as the school grows.
‘All through’ Learning Opportunities at Eastbury Community School
Being an ‘all through school’ enables us to share unique and expert teaching personnel and bespoke resources. Within our first year, we linked up with the PE, Music and English departments to enhance the learning of our youngest pupils. Our Christmas production and parent assemblies benefit from involvement with specialist music teachers and we are hoping to be involved in the current partnership project with other local schools and the Royal Shakespeare Company.
