Developing your career at Eastbury Community School

Working at Eastbury Community School provides an excellent opportunity to develop your career as a teacher or associate (support) member of staff. We are a successful, well ordered and inclusive school serving a diverse community. Our number one priority is to improve teaching and learning, and we pride ourselves in being a school where teachers can teach, and children are aspirational want to learn. OFSTED judge the school as overall good; and our sixth form and the care we provide for pupils as outstanding.

We are proud of and value all of our pupils, and focus on ensuring they are well cared for and make excellent progress in the school. We celebrated excellent examination results in 2019 with many pupils achieving top grades at both GCSE and A level. Three of our GCSE pupils achieved ‘clean sweeps’ with 7 or more top grades. Our A Level results are the best in the borough for a second year in succession. Our ambition is now to become overall outstanding by 2022. We hope that you will want to join our highly supportive team to make this a reality.

As a mixed community school in Barking, East London we are at the forefront of innovation and development. The school is proud of the excellent progress of students and outstanding provision of care & guidance, support for and collaboration with other schools and teachers, and our plans to extend this further in the future is a key priority for the school.

Our new purpose built primary accommodation opened in September 2016 and our new secondary buildings opened in January 2017. We are currently coming to the end of refurbishing and updating our facilities in our older buildngs.

Well-being and high quality professional development for all staff is at the heart of what we believe is important. As a member of staff you will work in a supportive environment where staff contributions are really valued. Many of our staff want to develop their career at Eastbury and we are proud that many people gain promotion both within and beyond the school. Above all we want our students and staff to be happy, successful and healthy.
The school is located less than 10 minutes’ walk from Barking tube and mainline station (25 minutes from Liverpool Street station) and is easily accessible by road.
