Our aim is to excite children’s imaginations and inspire them to learn. We want to extend their horizons, deepen their understanding and meet their needs, so they can become successful lifelong learners.
We want the children to leave Year 3 as happy, independent learners who are ready to take on the challenge of Year 4.
Talk for writing has been going really well across the school. Year 3 have started persuasive writing and our new text is the P-P-P – Perfect P-P-P-Pen.
Our new topic this term is Rainforests! We are super excited to learn all about it. Year 3 have started the topic with a hook lesson. There were facts posted around the classroom. Children had to look around and guess what the topic will be for Summer 1.
The children have been off to a great start this term. Coming back into school after a long break has been one of our greatest concerns. We have assured that we are focusing on the children’s wellbeing throughout this difficult time.
The children had the chance to dress up at home for World Book Day! The outfits were amazing. Could you guess any of our famous book characters?
A huge thank you to Miss Hoque for organising Mad Scientist Day for the children. They had a lot of fun being able to learn a lot about nutrition, how our digestive system works and also ending off the day with a fun experiment of how lava is formed!
We are super excited to be starting our new scheme of work which is Talk for Writing.
The children are currently looking at a report about Ancient Romans. We have come together as a class to create actions for our story map. Video of children acting the text to follow soon.
We have started off the term learning about fractions. The children are currently learning to add and subtract fractions with the denominator remaining the same. Pictures to follow soon.
Scientist of the term - Autumn term
Al- Tariq received the Scientist of the term, awarded by Miss Hoque. He has shown great enthusiasm in science this half term.
Glasgow Art day
The children had the opportunity to design and create their own Stone Age wall drawings as a class.
Their fantastic work was set up to display along the Year 3 corridor!
